Liposuction

Tumescent liposuction is a body contouring procedure. It is not a treatment for generalized obesity, but is designed to remove those stubborn localized fat deposits that cannot be dieted away. The areas usual involved are the hips, lower abdomen, and thighs in women, and for men, “love handles,” abdomen, and breasts.

The operation is done in an operating room under intravenous sedation or general anesthesia. Through small incisions in an inconspicuous area, I insert thin metal tubes called cannulas, and using powerful suction, I remove the excess fatty tissue until a pleasing contour is achieved. At the completion of the procedure, you will be in an elastic support garment for comfort and to prevent swelling and bruising. You must wear this garment for two weeks to insure proper healing.

As with any body image surgery, the desired result depends on maintenance of a healthy life style. This includes good eating habits and balancing your diet with activity.
